The Mitzvah House
Ohel Eli v'Yaakov

Welcome to The Mitzvah House – Ohel Eli v’Yaakov,
a sacred space of healing, unity, and light established on the sands of Bondi Beach.

Born out of the darkness of the Chanukah 5786 (2025) massacre, our mitzvah kiosks stand as a living response to hatred. We invite you to join us in transforming grief into action through the power of mitzvot.

From our sorrow מן המיצר

The 15 holy souls call on me to do good קראתי י-ה

(Poetic translation)

What You Can Do Here

Our kiosks are staffed by volunteers dedicated to providing a dignified and welcoming environment for every visitor:

  • Candle Lighting: Dedicated spaces to light candles in memory of those lost and to bring more light into the world.

  • Spiritual Support: Shabbat candles, Tefillin, and educational pamphlets are available for all Jewish visitors.

  • Hospitality: In the spirit of Chabad outreach, we offer free water and a good conversation—a cool respite in the Bondi summer heat.

  • Community Unity: A safe space for both Jewish and non-Jewish friends to stand together against violence and for peace.
